2026 FIFA World Cup coverage from Vancouver as New Zealand take on Egypt. Mohamed Salah once again carries the hopes of a nation on the biggest stage in what could be his final World Cup. After missing out on the 2022 tournament in Qatar, Egypt returns with renewed belief and were held to a draw by Belgium in their opening match. New Zealand, meanwhile, are appearing in only their third World Cup and their first since 2010, when they left the tournament unbeaten but still exited at the group stage. Darren Bazeley’s side twice they took the lead against IR Iran but couldn’t seal what would have been a crucial win. They now face the much tougher test against one of Africa’s strongest sides.
