At the end of March, Alphonso Davies tore his cruciate ligament. FC Bayern had to do without the exceptional Canadian player on the left wing for 261 days – over eight months. The 25-year-old celebrated his triumphant comeback on Tuesday evening in the Champions League home game against Sporting Lisbon.
We followed his road to recovery closely and talked to him about the most important stages in his life, the doors he has walked through in his life. Starting out in ice hockey-focused Toronto, Canada, Phonzy Davies moved to the soccer academy in Vancouver, Canada, in 2015 at the age of 14. In 2018, he transferred to FC Bayern Munich on Säbener Straße. What followed is history.
